Long List: Former San Antonio Mayor Henry Cisneros, on the short list in 1984 for the Democratic vice presidential slot when Walter Mondale ran for President, is now on a less desirable list: Mary Alice Cisneros, his wife, named him as a man who committed acts of cruelty and adultery in divorce papers. Cisneros, still very visible in Texas politics, could not be reached for comment.

* Caught: A woman who was arrested in London over allegations that a drug ring carried on its trade inside Buckingham Palace was freed on bail Monday. The woman was not named, but London tabs said she plied her trade from the servant’s quarters “under the noses of palace security guards” using the main palace telephone number. Queen Elizabeth’s reaction? A spokesman said curtly it was merely a police matter.

* Up for Bid: A 38-caliber Colt Cobra revolver that cost $62.50 in 1963 may sell for more than 1,600 times that in December in New York. It is the gun Jack Ruby used to kill Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas on Nov. 24, 1963, two days after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Oswald had been accused of killing Kennedy. Auctioneer Herman Darvick will start the bidding at $100,000: “It has to be the most valuable gun in private hands. People saw this live on television.”

* Sneaky: A hustling Pennsylvania shoe chain recently held an auction of shoes donated by famous people--including former President Jimmy Carter--to raise money for the homeless. The top bid was $300 for a pair worn by actress Candice Bergen. Tennis pro Andre Agassi’s fancy footgear went for $175. The ex-President’s Size 10 1/2 sneakers commanded $60. Maybe nobody liked the red Georgia mud still on them.
