NOTES : Baltazar, Young Top Irvine Marriott Boxing Card
Frankie Baltazar, older brother of welterweight contender Tony, takes on Charles Kirk Young tonight in the main event of the monthly boxing card at the Irvine Marriott Hotel.
Baltazar, of Whittier, last fought in April at the Irvine Marriott. He knocked out Mario Solorio in the eighth round to improve to 40-3-1.
Young (15-5) lost a 12-round decision to Ernie Chavez for the vacant state welterweight title last November.
Vince Black and Charles Wilson, both light heavyweights from Los Angeles, will fight in the six-round semi-main event.
Tickets--priced at $32, $27, and $22--go on sale at 10 a.m. today in the grand ballroom of the hotel. The first of six scheduled bouts is at 7:30 p.m. Children under 16 are not permitted in the event.
