Dimension Cable Services said Friday that it has acquired Rancho Santa Margarita Cablevision, which serves 5,750 customers in South County. Dimension, citing a confidentiality agreement, would not disclose terms of the sale.
The Cablevision operation was sold by the Santa Margarita Co., a real estate developer. The system serves the communities of Rancho Santa Margarita and Dove Canyon, and the Rancho Cielo and Brock Homes subdivisions.
Though the sale took place Friday, Leo Brennan, Dimension’s vice president and general manager, said Cablevision customers may not be converted to the Dimension system until year’s end.
Dimension is owned by the Times Mirror Co., which also owns the Los Angeles Times.
Dimension will serve about 130,000 cable customers after the Cablevision subscribers join its network.
