Pollution has forced the closure of three popular recreational areas in Mission Bay, county health officials said Friday.
Beaches near the Visitor’s Center, Leisure Lagoon and Enchanted Cove were closed until further notice. According to county officials, water samples taken from storm drains that empty into the three areas showed high bacterial counts.
City crews are trying to determine the source of the pollution. Warning signs have been posted in the area and will remain up until tests confirm that the water is safe.
