CBS’ telecast of Game 5 gave the network an overall prime-time victory for the night and its highest Thursday night rating in more than six years.
The game got a 22.9 rating and 37 share, best since a prime-time lineup led by “Magnum P.I.” gave CBS a 23.7 and 35 on Jan. 3, 1985.
The average rating for five game nights is 22.8 and 36, up 5% from last year’s four-game average.
The rating is the percentage of televisions in America and is equal to about 921,000 homes. The share is the percentage of televisions in use at the time.
