Bianco and Associates, owners of Harry Hill Volkswagen in West Covina, will soon close down and merge the dealership with their Volvo franchise on Citrus Avenue in Covina.
The Covina Redevelopment Agency on Monday granted the firm a three-year lease on a 13,500-square-foot parcel on the south side of Rowland Street, west of Citrus Avenue, where it will store its Volkswagen dealership cars. The company will pay $350 a month for the storage site.
The new Harry Hill Volvo & Volkswagen dealership is expected to generate from $40,000 to $50,000 in additional sales tax revenue for the city annually, said Michael A. Marquez, the agency’s deputy executive director. In 1990, the Volvo dealership alone generated nearly $83,000 in revenue, he said.
