Green, Dunbar Rally Indiana to a 28-20 Victory Over Wisconsin

Quarterback Trent Green scored three touchdowns Saturday and Vaughn Dunbar rushed for 205 yards as Indiana rallied for a 28-20 Big Ten victory over Wisconsin.

Wisconsin, 3-4 overall and 0-4 in the Big Ten, took a 17-0 halftime lead before the Hoosiers (4-2-1, 3-1), playing without Coach Bill Mallory, battled back.

Mallory was suspended from Saturday’s game for violating a Big Ten rule by criticizing game officials and conference personnel after Indiana’s 24-16 loss at Michigan a week earlier.

The Badgers scored less than two minutes into the game on a 55-yard touchdown run by Brent Moss, and Korey Manley fell on blocked punt in the end zone for a 14-0 lead.

Rich Thompson’s 41-yard field goal gave the Badgers 17-0 lead and he added a 36-yarder at the outset of the third quarter.

Dunbar’s 45-yard run set up Green’s two-yard scoring run. Dunbar scored on a two-yard run and Green gave the Hoosiers a 21-20 lead on a one-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

Green added a four-yard scoring run before Wisconsin, behind freshman quarterback Jay Macias, moved to the Indiana 30, but time ran out.
