Colorado State (3-5, 2-3) had a first down on Wyoming’s seven-yard line with 65 seconds left, but an errant pitch from quarterback Kevin Verdugo moved the Rams back to the 18.

On fourth down, Verdugo was sacked by Doug Rigby.

Air Force 20, Texas El Paso 13--Rob Perez connected with Scott Hufford on a 76-yard scoring pass early in the final quarter and the Falcons held off the Miners at Colorado Springs, Colo.

Perez, lulling the Miner secondary to sleep with a relentless ground assault, found Hufford open over the middle to give Air Force (7-2, 5-1) a 20-6 lead with 13:47 remaining.

UTEP (3-5-1, 1-4-1) got close on Kenny Brown’s three-yard run, and had another drive reach the Air Force 17, but Glenn Bishop’s fourth-down reception was ruled out of bounds with 3:49 left.
