SANTA ANA : Crash Injures 3 but Mayor’s Kin Unhurt
Leslee Young, wife of Santa Ana Mayor Daniel H. Young, and their three children were involved in a three-car collision Monday but were unhurt, Santa Ana police said.
The accident occurred at 8:28 a.m. when Braulio Padilla, 21, of Santa Ana ran a red light at the intersection of Flower Street and Segerstrom Avenue, Police Lt. Bob Helton said. His car struck a van driven by Steven Cole, 21, of Irvine. The van spun out of control and collided with Young’s van, which had stopped for the red light.
Padilla and two passengers, Luis Camacho, 23, of Perris and Silvestre Sampablo, 25, of Santa Ana all received facial injuries and were hospitalized. Padilla was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange and Camacho and Sampablo to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.
Neither Cole nor Young and her three children, ages 5, 4 and 1, required medical attention, Helton said. No citations have been issued pending further investigation.
