WESTMINSTER — Three siblings were ordered Monday to stand trial in the death of their father, a 68-year-old invalid who prosecutors allege died of neglect, malnutrition and dehydration.
Robert Heitzman, a former plumber who had suffered a series of strokes, died last December in the Huntington Beach home where he lived with his two adult sons, Richard, 48, and Jerry, 44. A daughter, Susan, 31, visited on weekends.
All three face charges of felony elder abuse. In addition, the sons will be tried for involuntary manslaughter.
They will appear Monday in Orange County Superior Court to answer the charges against them.
