Twins, World Series Were Tough to Beat
OK, OK . . . It’s time to give credit where credit is due. For years I’ve maintained that CBS stood for Can’t Broadcast Sports . Their blunders and show-biz, schmaltzy over-sensationalism has been a great frustration to this sports fan. It seems the top brass of CBS Sports has finally awakened and smelled the decaf.
Their coverage of this year’s World Series was quite good. They kept it simple, concentrating more on the game and less on multi-camera angles, celebrity crowd shots and those “human interest” stories that seemed to get more attention than the score.
The drama of the World Series itself is enough. We didn’t need the rest of the trappings. Keep up the good work.
