PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Ready or Not, Here Comes Newberry

Left guard Tom Newberry, who is nursing a sprained right ankle, participated in Friday’s light workout and appeared ready to at least try to play in Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

If he cannot play, Bern Brostek, who started the first five games of the season at left guard but is still recovering from a sprained ankle, will step in.

Receiver Flipper Anderson, recovering from a back injury, has been impressive this week in practice and Coach John Robinson may change his mind about holding Anderson out of Sunday’s game.

“I think Flipper will play,” quarterback Jim Everett said. “It’ll be a great addition for us. For some reason, Flipper loves playing these guys. . . . Hopefully, we can have a little bit of time to get the ball to him.”
