Washington moved into a second-place tie with Miami, and Virginia and Indiana cracked the Top 25 for the first time this season in the Associated Press poll.

Washington (8-0), which has been inching closer to Miami the last few weeks, finally caught the idle Hurricanes (7-0) after pounding Arizona State, 44-16. Washington got four first-place votes and tied Miami’s 1,413 points.

Florida State (9-0) remained No. 1, Michigan (7-1) stayed No. 4, Notre Dame (8-1) is still No. 5 and Florida (7-1) remained No. 6.

California (7-1) moved up three spots to No. 7 after routing USC, 52-30. UCLA is 22nd, Virginia 24th and Indiana 25th.
