IRVINE : Anita Hill Adviser to Discuss Hearings
Legal scholar Kimberle Crenshaw, a member of a team of lawyers who advised law professor Anita F. Hill during the recent U.S. Senate confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, will discuss the controversial proceedings today at UC Irvine.
The noon lecture, entitled “Who Was Lynched? Anita Hill or Clarence Thomas?” will be held in Conference Room 338 of the campus administration building on Pereira Drive. Crenshaw’s lecture is sponsored by the University of California’s Humanities Research Institute, which is based at UCI.
Crenshaw, a graduate of Harvard Law School and an acting professor at UCLA Law School, is regarded as a top legal scholar on civil rights and race issues. She is a visiting fellow at the institute this quarter.
