2nd Hospital Director Faces a Recall Vote

Share

A second member of the board of directors of Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center will face a recall election next spring as a result of a successful petition campaign, Los Angeles County officials said Friday.

Recall proponents gathered 15,030 valid signatures against hospital board member Steve Fox, more than the 14,339 required, a spokeswoman for the county registrar’s office said. The same group last month succeeded in forcing board member Anne Brouillette into a recall election.

The five-member governing board of the publicly run hospital, the largest in the Antelope Valley, now must set a date for the election, which is expected next spring.

Fox and Brouillette were elected to the board by area voters last November but have been criticized by hospital managers who believe that they have hindered progress at the hospital.
