The NBA fined nine players a total of $10,500 as a result of a skirmish between the New York Knicks and Indianapolis Pacers.
Patrick Ewing of the Knicks was assessed the biggest fine, $6,000, “for acting as the aggressor” in a brief melee with Detlef Schrempf of the Pacers, who was fined $1,000, NBA Vice President Rod Thorn said.
