Landmark Entertainment Group, a theme park design company based in North Hollywood, said it has been selected to design and do the master plan for a $200-million theme park and resort in Kansas based on “The Wizard of Oz” movie. Landmark did not disclose the value of its contract.

The project, awarded to Landmark by a consortium of public and private entities in Kansas, will include theme park attractions, a hotel and golf course on about 700 acres, Landmark said. The park is projected to open in 1995.

Landmark also said it has been chosen to design a $30-million pavilion for SsangYong, a Korean industrial concern, at the Taejon International Exposition 1993 in Korea. Landmark previously announced that it would design the Samsung Pavilion at the expo.
