SANTA ANA : Man Fatally Shot During Argument
An unidentified man was fatally shot after a scuffle with two other men outside an apartment complex, police said Tuesday.
The man, described only as in his 30s, died at the scene in the 800 block of Fairview Street, Police Sgt. Art Echternacht said.
One witness in the Fairview Villa apartment complex told police that just before midnight Monday, he was awakened by shouting outside his bedroom window, Echternacht said.
He looked outside and saw three men arguing loudly on the sidewalk. One of the men suddenly pulled out a handgun and fired at the victim, striking him once, Echternacht said.
The assailants then ran from the scene, he said.
Detectives have so far been unable to identify the victim, or learn a motive for the killing, according to Echternacht. The case is still under investigation, he added.
