A 24-year-old Moorpark woman was seriously injured while she was standing in the road putting the hood of her car down, authorities said.

Sandra Clodfelter was in good condition at Simi Valley Hospital, a nursing supervisor said Sunday.

Clodfelter was driving east on Tierra Rejada Road in Simi Valley about 8 a.m. Friday when the hood of her car flew up, the California Highway Patrol said.

Clodfelter stopped and was pushing the hood down when the rear of her car was hit by a car driven by Kim Trang Nguyen, 32, of Simi Valley, the CHP said.

Nguyen’s car, which was traveling about 45 m.p.h., pushed the other car forward, striking Clodfelter. She was thrown onto the right shoulder, the CHP said.

Clodfelter’s 2-year-old daughter, Chantelle, was treated at Simi Valley Hospital and released. Nguyen and her 5-year-old daughter, Linda, were also treated and released.
