‘Geraldo’ Guest Who Admitted to Sex With Minor Arrested
A man who admitted on the talk show “Geraldo” that he had sex with his girlfriend’s 14-year-old daughter has been arrested.
Donald Bixler, 24, was picked up Monday on a parole violation, sheriff’s Capt. Richard Lonergan said. Authorities said they intend to charge him with unlawful sex with a minor.
Authorities had been searching for Bixler since Thursday, when child welfare officials removed the teen-ager, who is now 16, from the home her mother shared with Bixler. Her mother and Bixler are engaged.
All three appeared on the nationally syndicated TV show last week. The show was taped two weeks before it aired, producer David Scott said.
He said the mother had approached the show, explaining that her fiance had an affair with her daughter about two years ago.
The mother said she forgave Bixler “and they put this behind them and went on from there,” Scott said.
Bixler was on parole for previous burglary and drug-related charges. His parole had been scheduled to end this week.
