Robbins Resigns From Senate

Share

Robbins admits guilt, ends career, but maybe saves what’s left of his soul. Would that the same could be said for the cynical constituency that returned him to office year after year. The smart money, you see, said that Robbins was powerful and therefore good for the Valley because he’d get us our share of the pork barrel. Some smarts! Development goes ungracefully forward, ruled by the wheeling and dealing and bribery that make state politics money politics.

Meanwhile, our schools are a shambles and our air is unbreathable and no one in Sacramento thinks he can do a thing about it. At least we can take comfort that democracy is working just fine--in Robbins, we got what we deserved!
