ORANGE : Council, Planners to Hold Joint Session
- Share via
The City Council will meet with Planning Commission members in two joint study sessions this week.
City officials will meet today at 3 p.m. to hear an update on the city budget and discuss final changes to a growth management plan that would make the city eligible for $1 million in Measure M sales tax revenue next year.
To receive revenue from Measure M, the council must adopt a plan that demonstrates how Orange will meet future traffic circulation needs as the city grows. Measure M authorized a half-cent sales tax for 20 years to raise funds for traffic improvements. Council members are expected to vote on a plan at their Dec. 10 session.
City and planning officials will also meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday to discuss possible improvements in traffic signals and parking on Collins Avenue at Shaffer and Cambridge streets. Both meetings will be in the Weimer Room at City Hall.
