COUNTYWIDE : Holiday Weekend Safer Than in ’90
Ventura County residents appeared to be driving more safely over the Thanksgiving weekend contrasted with the same holiday period last year, the California Highway Patrol reported Monday.
There was one traffic fatality during the four-day holiday weekend contrasted with five during the same period last year, Officer T. J. McAllister said.
Thirty-seven people were arrested for driving under the influence compared with 56 such arrests during the 1990 Thanksgiving holiday period, she said.
Thanksgiving holiday traffic incidents were measured by the CHP from 6 p.m. Wednesday through midnight Sunday.
