Suddenly, Lake Casitas Yielding Trophy Trout
A recent stocking from a private trout hatchery has temporarily transformed Lake Casitas, known primarily for its largemouth bass, into a trophy trout fishery.
“We got trout to eight pounds,” a spokesman at the lake said. “(Anglers) from shore are catching 4 1/2-pounders, and boaters are catching the same fish in the Santa Ana Channel.”
