Tired of Criticism

Share

Recently my wife and I attended the Pacific Symphony concert at the Performing Arts Center that included Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4.

Being a part of the “uncultured” Orange County population, at least as far as music is concerned according to the reviews in your paper, we both thoroughly enjoyed this part of the program.

If your Chris Pasles (“Carl St. Clair Turns Up Volume on Tchaikovsky,” Nov. 15), who delights in flaunting his superior knowledge of music, is so pained by all the technical errors made in a performance and does not like the performances at the Center or the way the audience reacts, why does he attend? Do you force this person to do so?

We get very tired of reading the critical articles of the various performances at the Center and how uncultured and stupid the audience is.

You may reply that if I don’t like these articles, I should not read them. Perhaps it is in the hope that sometime, one article might be complimentary of the programs that we in Orange County like.
