Free drinks and gifts will be given this holiday season to participants in the East San Gabriel Valley Designated Driver Program.

More than 35 restaurants in the City of Industry, Hacienda Heights, Diamond Bar, Glendora, Claremont, Baldwin Park, Azusa, San Dimas and West Covina will serve free, nonalcoholic beverages to individuals who wear a button designating them as the driver in a group of more than three people.

The buttons can be redeemed afterward at other businesses for gifts, including carwashes, movie tickets or health club admissions.

Also available are “Party Packs” containing a poster, coasters, napkins, balloons, a key chain, nonalcoholic drink recipes and information on the program.

The packs are available at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut-San Dimas station, 122 N. San Dimas Ave., San Dimas.

The designated driver program is run by the California Highway Patrol, the Sheriff’s Department and various San Gabriel Valley police departments.
