Ailing Becker Pulls Out of Antwerp Final

ANTWERP, Belgium —
Boris Becker, suffering from flu, withdrew from the final of the European Community Championship on Sunday, enabling American Aaron Krickstein to win the title.
“Boris made the choice not to play,” organizer Georges Baudeweyns told the capacity crowd at the 17,000-seat Sports Palace.
Krickstein got $250,000 from the $1.1 million purse in the exhibition. Becker received $160,000.
