Two separate social services agencies in Ventura County are moving their operations to one Oxnard building.
El Concilio Del Condado De Ventura and Interface Children Family Services’ Oxnard office have each signed five-year leases for space in a 17,000-square-foot building at 625 N. A St.
El Concilio Executive Director Marcos Vargas said the move was primarily a money-saving action, but was also part of a plan to offer a service center for the community.
El Concilio is a Latino advocacy group that provides after-school tutoring, family counseling, immigration assistance and substance abuse education. The group, which will occupy the second floor offices on A Street, expects to be moved in by mid-February, Vargas said.
Interface provides assistance to abused children, including medical and counseling services. Interface’s Oxnard office, formerly located on C Street, is moving into the first floor of the A Street building. The organization also has offices in Ventura, Thousand Oaks and Camarillo.
