2 Hospital Trustees Face Recall Vote on April 14

Share

The governing board of Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center has chosen April 14 as the date of a recall election concerning two board members, opting to consolidate the contest with municipal elections in Lancaster and Palmdale.

Recall proponents earlier this year gathered enough signatures to force first-term board members Steve Fox and Anne Brouillette into an election, arguing that the two had mismanaged the hospital. Hospital officials hope holding the election with the two cities will reduce the facility’s election costs.

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, meanwhile, is reviewing allegations that some circulators of the recall petitions were not registered to vote in the hospital district, as required by law. But even if the allegations are true, prosecutors said, that likely would not halt the recall election.
