Man Found Murdered in Still-Running Car
A Long Beach man was found shot to death at the wheel of his still-running car early Sunday after the vehicle plowed into a parked car in Compton.
The dead man was identified as Milton Jerome Brenson, 26. He had been shot once in the back of the head and was pronounced dead at the scene in the 100 block of North Willow Street, said Compton Police Sgt. William Wallace.
Residents had called police at about 1:40 a.m. and reported hearing gunshots and the sound of a car crashing, he said. Officers found Brenson’s 1985 Oldsmobile crashed with the engine still running.
Investigators did not know the motive for the shooting and had no description of a suspect, Wallace said.
