The Supreme Court rejected an appeal by California Death Row inmate Kevin Cooper, convicted of four 1983 Chino Hills murders.

The justices, without comment Monday, let stand rulings that Cooper received a fair trial.

Cooper escaped from the California Institute for Men in Chino two days before the June 4, 1983, murders.

Doug and Peggy Ryen, their 10-year-old daughter, Jessica, and a house guest, 11-year-old Chris Hughes, were killed in their sleep at the Ryen home near the Chino prison.
