Newton Pays Up: Singer Wayne Newton’s gaming company has made good on bounced checks issued to bingo winners. The checks bounced following a dispute between the Seneca-Cayuga tribe and Wayne Newton Gaming Inc. over how the tribe’s bingo hall in northeastern Oklahoma should be run. After a hearing Tuesday, Newton’s lawyer signed checks for prize money ranging from $667 to $16,500. The company has agreed to let the tribe run the hall until the dispute is resolved through arbitration.
