La Verne : Theater Opposition Stops
The effort to prevent construction of a 2,950-seat movie theater on Foothill Boulevard has ended with a decision by pharmacist Bob Mastro to drop his lawsuit against the project.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge last week rejected Mastro’s efforts to force the theater and the city to reconsider the project’s impact on traffic.
Mastro said he has decided against appealing the decision. The pharmacist, who contends the proposed theater is too large for the site, said he spent nearly $40,000 fighting the project.
“I can go just so far. My resources are limited,” he said.
