A man suspected of beating his mother and stepfather to death in Rancho Bernardo was charged Tuesday with more counts, this time 41 counts of fraudulent use of his stepfather’s credit cards.

Bradley Parlin, 28, is charged with the Sept. 19 murder of his mother, Jean Ekroad, 64, and his stepfather, Wallace Ekroad, 76, who died Oct. 30 from his injuries in the same attack.

He also was charged with four bank robberies allegedly committed after the attacks.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Jim Waters said existing federal bank robbery charges will be dismissed and instead will be prosecuted as state violations.

Parlin pleaded innocent to all the new charges before San Diego Municipal Court Judge Patricia Cowett. The existing attempted murder charge involving his stepfather was upgraded Tuesday to murder.

His preliminary hearing was re-scheduled to Jan. 9.

Parlin was arrested Sept. 24 after a high-speed chase from Solana Beach to Ramona after a bank robbery.
