Nothing to Say: Mark David Chapman, who is serving a prison term for the murder of former Beatle John Lennon, says he will not take advantage of the new U.S. Supreme Court ruling that allows accused criminals to tell their stories for profit. “I am not interested in making money off the death of John Lennon,” Chapman said. “I couldn’t do that in my conscience.” Chapman’s remarks were published in Wednesday’s Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. The Supreme Court last week struck down as too broad New York’s so-called Son-of-Sam law that authorized confiscation of royalties from books, movies and other published works in which the authors confessed to criminal exploits.
