From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The New Hampshire Supreme Court agreed to hear the appeal of teacher Pamela Smart, who was convicted this year of coercing a teen-age student into murdering her husband, her lawyer said. Smart, 24, is serving a life-without-parole sentence following her conviction of conspiracy to commit murder in connection with her husband’s shooting death. William Flynn, Smart’s 17-year-old lover, testified that Smart convinced him and three others to commit the murder. Flynn, who along with two other teen-agers, made a plea bargain and is awaiting sentencing on a second-degree murder charge.
