U.S. District Judge Howard McKibben set a Feb. 28 court date for the NCAA’s challenge of a Nevada law that regulates NCAA enforcement procedure in the state.

McKibben also ruled that the case will be heard in Las Vegas rather than Reno, where he held a hearing Thursday to consider a request by the NCAA for a preliminary injunction in the matter.

The NCAA filed suit Nov. 12 in U.S. district court in Reno against Nevada Gov. Bob Miller, Nevada Las Vegas basketball Coach Jerry Tarkanian and others challenging the constitutionality of a statute that requires NCAA enforcement proceedings involving Nevada institutions to conform to standards of legal due process.
