Hour Power: Countering a recent move by rival KABC Channel 7, KCBS Channel 2 will expand its early morning newscast to a full hour beginning Jan. 6. Currently only KNBC Channel 4, the ratings leader at that hour, airs an hour of local news from 6-7 a.m., but when both KABC and KCBS expand their half-hour broadcasts, all three will compete head-to-head for early risers.
