Auburn’s New Official Not Worried by Tapes
Auburn’s incoming president said Monday that tape recordings made by a former football player who claims coaches gave him money didn’t appear to implicate Coach Pat Dye in wrongdoing.
William V. Muse, who will replace Jim Martin as president in April, responded to Sunday’s “60 Minutes” broadcast during which excerpts of secret recordings made by Eric Ramsey were played.
The tape of Dye “sounded pretty inconclusive to me,” Muse said. “I’m not sure if there was anything new on that program.”
