Ghost of Seasons Past: Make room for a new “Topper.” CBS Entertainment has ordered a pilot based on the story of a sophisticated couple who die in an accident and return as ghosts to bother a very conventional gentleman. Cary Grant, Constance Bennett and Roland Young played the roles in a 1937 film, and Robert Sterling, Anne Jeffreys and Leo G. Carroll starred in a “Topper” TV series in the 1950s. John Landis will direct and be executive producer of the new version for King World Productions.
