Woman, 88, Killed in Traffic Collision
A Santa Ana woman died Thursday when the car she was riding in collided with another vehicle near the entrance to the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station, police said.
Antonia Mendoza, 88, died in the 2:40 p.m. crash at Seal Beach Boulevard and Forrestal Lane, Lt. Kenny Mollohan said.
Her son, Alfred Mendoza, 61, was taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where he was treated for bruises to his torso, police said. He was listed in fair condition Thursday night, according to a nursing supervisor.
Police said Alfred Mendoza was driving south on Seal Beach Boulevard and was making a left turn onto Forrestal Lane when a northbound car collided with the Mendozas on the passenger side.
Police are investigating and have not cited either driver.
