NATIONAL ROUNDUP : Itsallgreektome Is Second Again

Crystal Moment, a 49-1 shot, beat odds-on favorite Itsallgreektome by a neck in winning Sunday’s $200,000 Hialeah Turf Cup Handicap at Hialeah Park.

Crystal Moment, ridden by Rick Wilson, ran with the lead pack throughout the 1 1/2-mile race. He was timed in 2:28 1/5 and returned $100.20, $13 and $5.40.

Itsallgreektome, the 1-2 favorite who now has finished a close second in his last three races, paid $2.60 and $2.20. Passagere Du Soir paid $3.60.

At the clubhouse turn, formerly Southland-based Putting led the favorite by a neck with El Duce third and Crystal Moment fourth.

On the far turn the second time around, Itsallgreektome trailed Putting by a neck, with El Duce within 1 1/2 lengths of the leaders and Crystal Moment a neck behind El Duce on the outside.

Itsallgreektome led by a length as the field turned for home, but Crystal Moment moved to challenge on the outside as Passagere Du Soir rallied on the inside. Crystal Moment was within a half-length at the eighth pole and got his head in front at the sixteenth pole.

Crystal Moment, a 7-year-old Kentucky-bred son of Super Moment, won one of 12 starts last year and one of nine 1990. His combined earnings for those two years was $177,546; he won $120,000 Sunday.

Shuttleman ($4) scored a 10 1/2-length wire-to-wire victory in Aqueduct’s $85,350 Paumonok Handicap. He covered six furlongs over a muddy track in 1:11.
