Kieishsha Garnes and Falisha Wright combined for most of San Diego State’s offensive punch in the Aztecs’ 65-54 victory over Loyola Marymount at Gersten Pavilion.

Garnes scored 25 points and had 12 rebounds and Wright added 19 points and 10 rebounds for SDSU (7-4). Poway graduate Christy Fortney scored 9 points for LMU (5-7).

UCLA swept a doubleheader against San Diego teams over the weekend. After Friday’s victory over SDSU, the Bruins took the University of San Diego to task Sunday and came away with a 78-70 victory. USD (3-7) fell despite outscoring UCLA (7-3) in the second half, 41-38.

Jill Shaver and Chris Enger led the Toreras with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
