An arrest warrant was issued for Raider quarterback Todd Marinovich after he failed to appear for arraignment on a misdemeanor disturbance charge.

South Bay Municipal Judge Thomas Sokolov issued the warrant Wednesday and set bail at $2,500, a clerk said Thursday.

Marinovich, 22, was cited on Halloween night in nearby Manhattan Beach for violation of the city noise ordinance.

Attempts will be made to inform Marinovich of the warrant and give him an opportunity to post bail, Sgt. Jack Zea of the Manhattan Beach Police Department said.

Martin J. Mayer, city prosecutor for Manhattan Beach, said the maximum penalty for the disturbance charge is six months in the county jail, a $500 fine or both.

“The next step is up to Mr. Marinovich,” Mayer said. “If he contacts us and arranges to meet us in court, in all likelihood, the warrant will be recalled and the only citation will be the original charge.”
