Two Knott’s Berry Farm Executives Given Promotions

James R. Kahl has been promoted to executive vice president of Knott’s Berry Farm, and Karen H. Yoshikawa has been appointed vice president and general manager of the Buena Park entertainment park and adjacent Knott’s California Marketplace.

Kahl has been the company’s senior vice president since joining Knott’s in June, and Yoshikawa has been vice president of the merchandise division since joining the company in 1982.

Before joining Knott’s, Kahl spent eight years with Marriott Corp. He served as vice president of internal audit, vice president of corporate finance, chief financial officer and senior vice president of administration, and ultimately, senior vice president of operations of Marriott’s food and services management division. Before that, Kahl was a managing partner with Arthur Andersen & Co.

Before joining Knott’s, Yoshikawa spent seven years with Six Flags Corp. where she was a director of gift shops for its Japanese Village entertainment park. She also served as retail planning consultant for Marineland of the Pacific.
