Father Drops 4 Children to Safety From Fire
Four children were rescued Wednesday from the second story of a burning building in Inglewood when the father of two of the youngsters dropped all four into the waiting arms of police officers and neighbors, officials said.
The children--twin 1-year-old boys, a 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl--suffered smoke inhalation, but were reported in good condition after the fire in the 10200 block of 10th Avenue.
Inglewood Fire Capt. Jim Colvin said that David Garner, 18, the father of the twin boys, dropped the four children to rescuers waiting below. He then climbed through a window and jumped to safety.
