Toddler Drowns in Jamul Family’s Pool
A 21-month-old girl died Friday afternoon after being found in her family’s swimming pool at a house in Jamul, authorities said.
Samantha Jaclyn Floyd was in the care of a 13-year-old sister, who discovered her in the pool and called authorities about 10:25 a.m., coroner’s investigator Everett Mauger said. A helicopter medical unit rushed the girl to Children’s Hospital in San Diego, where she died at 3:25 p.m., Mauger said.
The death was believed to be accidental, Mauger said, but he had no further information. The girl’s parents were at work at the time, Mauger said.
