** Collin Raye, “All I Can Be.” Epic. Raye’s light, often skillfullly elastic upper-range vocals will no doubt evoke comparisons to Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs and other bluegrass-tinged singers. But here’s another potentially interesting newcomer whose mildly entertaining debut album is sandbagged with songs and sentiments straight off the Nashville assembly line. Let’s hope “mildly entertaining” isn’t all Raye can be.
