CALIFORNIA RAMS? It still rankles some Orange County fans of the Rams and the Angels that they play in Anaheim but don’t adopt the name. Anaheim Mayor Fred Hunter wants his city mentioned, saying it would build civic pride. But he’s getting nowhere. . . . Rams senior executive John Shaw responds: “If we relied on Anaheim alone to support the club, we would be selling very few tickets.” As for the Angels: On a KOCE-TV program (F3) to air Sunday, owner Gene Autry says the name issue helped draw him to Anaheim in 1966. At the time, Long Beach officials insisted that he use the city’s name, but Anaheim did not.
