From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The body of a girl found at a baseball field near San Bernardino was identified by the San Bernardino County coroner’s office Friday as that of Sandra Astorga, who had been missing since she failed to show up for classes at an elementary school Jan. 10. Deputy Coroner Linda Osborne said an autopsy failed to reveal any obvious cause of death. Further tests were being conducted. Police said there had been no arrests in the case. A search for the 9-year-old girl was resumed Sunday after rabbit hunters found her backpack, books and some of her clothing in open country near Devore, about two miles west of the field.
